Study Materials
Provided
The course material includes a hard-cover international
text book "Working With Seniors: Health, Financial
and Social Issues" in excess of 600 pages of the
most up-to-date information on 50-plus and senior issues,
an extensive Canadian Study Guide dealing with the unique
Canadian senior’s and Grand Boomer concerns, as
well as a CSA Participant Workbook which guides the
student through key material for each chapter that is
vital for the exam.
Even though accelerated learning techniques are used
during the three days of tuition, it is strongly recommended
that interested parties register at least eight to twelve
weeks prior to the live class course in order to receive
their study material in good time to conduct approximately
20 hours of pre-study to prepare for this course and
the exam. The pre-study allows the student to better
enjoy the live class experience to its fullest extent.
Live Class Course Structure
The live class course consists of three days of instruction,
usually held from a Wednesday to a Friday with instruction
starting at 08:00 a.m., and ending at 05:00 p.m., with
the students returning on the fourth day to write the
exam, from 09:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A continental breakfast
is served each morning and refreshments are served periodically
during the day. Lunch and dinner is on your own.
Students are encouraged to form study groups, after
each day’s instruction, in order to work through
the subjects in their Participant Workbooks that were
handled that day.
The Exam
Based on the CSA international text book and Canadian
Study Guide, the monitored exam consists of 130-150
multiple-choice questions. The exam is held between
09:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on the last day of the course
(usually a Saturday). The exams are marked by an independent
marker and students will receive a pass or fail notification
by the following week, unless otherwise notified. The
actual marks that a student has achieved are not provided.
Students must score 75% or higher to pass the exam and
obtain their CSA designation.
The Tuition Fee
The fee for the live class CSA course is $1,595 plus
GST of $79.75 for a total of $1,674.75.
Students may take advantage of an installment option
of five equal payments of $345.45, inclusive of a one
time administration fee of $50. The installment option
is also available for discounted classes.
Ongoing Support
Once a student passes the exam they will receive one
publication per month (there are four of them that rotate),
they will be listed on this website in the “Find
a CSA” webpage, and they will have exclusive access
to the CSA Marketing Store.
Please see the Sign-Up
form for further details. If you wish someone to take

“I have three
university degrees, but I learned more and
benefited more from this program than any
of them. This was a valuable learning experience.”
